The aim for this project was to prevent those learners working outside of the college from being at a significant disadvantage to those in-house. We wanted to enable them to seek assessment as and when they required. Furthermore, we wished to add value to the Learners with Learning Difficulties and/or Disabilities (LLDD) by providing speedier and touch screen access.

The resources were procured because of their ability to provide alternative routes for learners to acquire evidence, employer support and visitor led assessment in the workplace.

These resources were compatible with existing resources based on the college campus. For learners not based in the workplace, these resources have provided the opportunity for learners and tutors to complete assessment and tasks related to assignments and portfolios in the wider learning environment outside of the classroom and within the college grounds, including the farm.

Examples of specific cohorts are:

  • E2E learners undertaking assessments and learning in Basic Skills whilst in a vocational context/setting
  • Discrete LLDD completing evidence gathering and assessment
  • Mainstream LLDD supported on programme across levels 1-2-3
  • WBL and T2G supported in the workplace with NVQ evidence and Basic Skills assessment
