Case Study: Using Camcorders and Games Technology to Help LLDD and Hearing Impaired Learners (Joseph Priestley College)

Learner Needs
LLDD – We needed more appropriate forms of evidence collection for the learners involved, and to streamline the RARPA process. We also needed to improve tracking to facilitate progression from school or other institutions to college and to work experience/employment.
BSL – There was a need to capture the signed teaching in class to be given to learners in a handy portable form.

Technology
Here you can see the key technologies used within this project.Click on the links to find out more about each of the technologies.
The project aims at helping LLDD students to progress into the workplace. It supports the RARPA process by building online video e-portfolio, including evidence from handheld devices. Learners could then show it to potential employers; teachers could also use it to build links with local firms to provide placements.
