Case Study: Exploring Wii (Bradford College)

Learner Needs
The learner needs within this discrete provision at Bradford cover a wide range of disabilities, both physical and cognitive. Students need to engage with their learning objectives and, by choosing these particular technologies, we have enhanced the engagement across a wide and diverse SLDD department.

Technology

The technology purchased had to be easy-to-use and culturally acceptable to the learners. Portable video cameras enable groups to become part of the decision making process when choosing assessment and learning activities and the Nintendo Wii’s help less physically able learners to engage in their learning too. These activities lead to more focused progression.
