Case Study: Using Multimedia to Create an ILP/Portfolio System (Rotherham College of Art and Technology)

Learner Needs
Traditional methods of creating evidence of achievement and records of work have been time consuming for the tutors, not owned by the learners, and haven't portrayed the learners ability to a potential employer.

Technology
Here you can see the key technologies used within this project.Click on the links to find out more about each of the technologies.
The college has chosen to use Apple Macs to support the learners in the creation of their portfolios, calling the project iDidit.
Each learner will use digital still and video cameras, to record evidence of their achievements and then put this together using the Apple Macs and software like ComicLife, which converts the output into a comic style format. The learners are given as much freedom and ownership as possible and the Macs have proved to be easy to use, with learners remembering skills from one week to the next.
