The Blueberry Academy team provide specialist support for adults with learning difficulties, developing highly innovative curriculum and services. The Academy are at the forefront of the Skills for Work agenda and have a proven track record in developing other organisations to introduce new practice and to raise the standards of employability training.
The Blueberry Academy strives to provide a quality service that meets the needs and aspirations of its learners, providers, employers and the local community. The Academy aims to respond to all of these groups by providing the curriculum and support necessary to enable progression and to allow individuals and providers to grow and develop.
The team opened MY Eco Café - an employability training project for people with learning difficulties, which operates from the Academy premises in York. The project is destination focused on the progression to paid work and all trainees are supported in jobsearch, applications and receive in work job coaching.

The College employs 400 staff. In 2005-06 the College recruited around 600 full-time learners and 6,000 part-time learners who range in age from 12 to 65+. Of these 14.3% declared themselves to have a learning difficulty or disability. The College offers a substantial range of courses specifically for learners with learning difficulties and disabilities, currently having 94 learners on Foundation Studies courses. British Sign Language courses are available from Levels 1 to 3.
Across the College, members of staff are involved with a wide range of external organisations representing the interests of disabled people.

Leeds City College is the largest Further education establishment in the City of Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, with around 57,000 students, 2,300 staff and an annual turnover of £78 million. It officially opened on 1 April 2009 and was formed from three large colleges, Park Lane College, Leeds Thomas Danby College and Leeds College of Technology.
On 1 August 2011 the college expanded further with the merger of the three sites of Joseph Priestley College in Rothwell, Beeston and Morley. On the same day it also became the owner of a newly re-constituted Leeds College of Music which will maintain a level of independence as a wholly owned company of the City College.

The new York College is now open on the Sim Balk Lane site, on the south western gateway to York. The landmark £60 million campus is one of the biggest building projects of its kind in the country.
In September 2007 the new York College opened its doors to some 13,000 learners who are enjoying the new state-of-the-art facilities.
